N/A or Canon Not Applicable: Main 'verse. AU from the end of "Order of the Phoenix." This 'verse predates "Half-Blood Prince" and "Deathly Hallows" and isn't getting changed to be compliant with them. I don't do that. :) Ethan Blakely was a senior Auror at the height of the war with Voldemort. He took part in the final battle at Hogwarts during which Voldemort was defeated by Harry Potter- and some unlikely allies. He's fought dark wizards for many many years, and is semi-retired after the war's end. Mostly he helps train the next generation of Aurors, doing very little field work.

Rebellion: Harry Potter died in the last battle with Voldemort, the one he was supposed to win, and didn't. In the aftermath of this crushing defeat, the few surviving Aurors and members of the Order of the Phoenix struggle to lead an insurgency against the new ruling order. It is dangerous and likely to get them all killed, but it's all they can do. Ethan was badly injured in a failed attempt to take out several leading Death Eaters. He walks with a pronounced limp and is no longer strong enough to fight, though he keeps trying to.

comments
